Shashikant’s landscapes are inspired by the Konkan region of Maharashtra. This is his way of looking back and reliving childhood memories that he relishes even today. His works aptly captures the unique splendour of the region. Grazing cattle, unexplored rivulets and waterfalls, natives working on infinite acres of fields, rows of coconut trees, warm rays of sunshine on dappled uneven paths, quaint houses et all find a place in his paintings.
