Glimpse Into Our Collector’s Collection

A look into how paintings by our young artists are transforming our client’s personal spaces

Painting by K Prakash
Why do you collect art?
The works that I own are very personal to me – and I believe collecting works of young artists is the best.

It is affordable, supports and encourages the new artists and in this journey I get to discover my own collecting style – Megha

This was your first art purchase, what attracted you to this painting?
We bought this piece from Rhythm Art almost 4 years back! Since then our collection has expanded to many genres but back then being a first-time buyer we went with our instinct. Viewing a nature-based painting is very calming; it gives a sense of the outdoors.

This painting hangs in our dining area and it is our view when the family sits together to eat. And we think this is the best view; being at home yet having the sense of being in nature – Hemant

Which is the most loved painting in your collection?
This is a tough one, because we love all the paintings we have! But to select one, this minimal abstract series is the highlight of our living room. Lot of people usually like to add colours in their interiors through art but for us we wanted something that is subtle yet speaks volume about its presence. We love that this work is not flat, it’s texture based style is what appealed us the most! – Jayesh

What do you look for when you buy art?
We don’t shop for art, art happens to us. The very moment we see a piece and when it speaks to us, we know that it is the one! It is always a spontaneous buy, we have never planned and bought art.
And that’s what makes acquiring art fun! – Mrs. Shah
